Benchmark indices Nifty and Sensex trade volatile even as Finance Minister Arun Jaitley concludes his budget announcement.
These stocks are the major gainers in the afternoon hours on the NSE:- Deepak Fertilisers is up by 4.26%, Dredging corporation is up by 4.18%, Emami is up by 4.16%,JP,Power Ventures is up by 7.07%,Kolte Patil Developers is up by 4.81%.
While HCL Infosystems is down by 4.12%, Interglobe is down by 7.75%, Aviation is down by 7.75%, Nitin Fire is down by 6.02%, Texmaco Rail is down by 4.02%, Welspun India is down by 3.43% are losing grounds on the NSE.
At 1 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27855.42 up 168.30 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8603.80 up 42.50 points. A total of 21 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 7 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.58% at 12931.79, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.53% at 13003.81.
Some buying activity is seen in FMCG, Auto and Capital Goods and Healthcare, IT, Utilities, Metal and Power are showing weakness on BSE.
Grasim, Bank of Baroda, SBI, Tata Motors and Bosch are among the gainers, whereas Idea, Aurobindo Pharma, TCS, HCL Tech and Infosys are losing sheen on NSE.
The INDIA VIX is down 14.63% at 14.36.
