Nifty 50 hits 8800 for the first time since October 5, 2015. There are 1196 advances, 326 declines and 390 unchanged stocks on NSE signalling strong positivity floating in the market. On the sectoral front, Pharma sector is showing some weakness on NSE. All the other sectors are trading in green.

Bank of Baroda, Union Bank, Mahanagar Gas, IndusInd Bank and HDFC Bank.
HDIL is trading at Rs 69.25 per share up by Rs 3.90 per share or 5.97%. Godrej Properties is trading at Rs 387.80 per share up by Rs 14.30 per share or 3.83%. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28240.52 up 182.49 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8800 up 59.05 points. A total of 83 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 9 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.76% at 13387.04, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.89% at 13541.84.
Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, Metal, Pharma, Auto, while Informatino Technology and Teck are showing weakness on BSE.
Infratel, ICICI Bank, Ambuja Cement, Bank of Baroda and IndusInd Bank are among the gainers, whereas Dr. Reddy’s, Idea, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra and Bosch are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour. The INDIA VIX is up 3.29% at 13.56.
