INR surges past 67 levels for the first time since November 11, 2016. Bharti Infratel and Bharti Airtel are contributing most to the BSE Telecom index gains. Bharti Infratel is up by 1.53%. Bharti Airtel is up by 0.45%. Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd. is the top gainer in the index and is up by 9.45%.

BSE Realty index is building up on its early gains and major stock in the index are buzzing on bourses. Whereas, HDIL is up by 2.62%, India Bulls Real Estate is up by 1.38%, DLF is up by 1.31% and Prestige Properties is up by 1.22%.

While, Godrej Properties is down by 1.20% and Oberoi Realty is down by 0.90%. DLF contributing 46% to the index gains and lifting the sectoral index to higher levels. Among all the index constituents there are 8 advances and 2 declines.

At 1 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28,249.95 down 39.97 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8765.10 down 12.95 points. A total of 64 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 4 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.13% at 13457.50, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.14% at 13576.42.

Some buying activity is seen in Telecom, IT, and Utilities. While Healthcare and Bankex indices are showing weakness on BSE. Infratel, Aurobindo Pharma, Tech Mahindra, TCS and Gail are among the gainers, whereas Hindalco, Tata Steel, Bank of Baroda and Cipla are losing sheen on NSE. The INDIA VIX is up 0.15% at 13.37.
