Nifty IT is the only sector showing weakness on NSE. IT giants, TCS and Infosys are trading in red.
ICICI Bank and ITC Ltd are contributing the most to Sensex gains. ICICI Bank is trading at Rs 290 per share up by 3.06%. ITC Ltd is trading at Rs 275.25 per share up by 1.03%.
Cement Stocks are buzzing on the bourses. Andhra Cement is trading at Rs 13.10 per share up by Rs 1.65 per share or 14.41%. Burnpur Cement is trading at Rs 16.70 per share, up by Rs 2.15 per share or 14.78%. Panyam Cements and Mineral Industries is trading at Rs 67.65 per share, up by Rs 11.25 per share or 19.95%.
The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28438.13 up 197.61 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8798.40 up 57.45 points. A total of 109 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 12 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 1.01% at 13418.32, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 1.03% at 13560.50.
Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, Metal, Pharma, Auto, while Informatino Technology and Teck are showing weakness on BSE.
ACC, Ambuja Cement, Lupin, ICICI Bank and Sun Pharma are among the gainers, whereas Idea, Dr. Reddy’s, Coal India, HCL Tech and Bajaj Auto are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour.
The INDIA VIX is up 2.72% at 13.48.
