Cipla is the top Sensex gainer; up by more than 1.7%. Whereas, SBI, Coal India, Axis Bank, Wipro, Sun Pharma, TCS, Tata Steel, ONGC and Bharti Airtel are the early index gainers. Infosys, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Uniliver, Tata Motors, Hero MotoCorp and LT are the top losers in the early hour trade.
Reliance group stock are gaining grounds on bourses. Reliance Communication surges above 15.70%, Reliance Capital is up by 3.24 and Reliance Defence is up by 3.28%. PSU banks are seen gaining in early hours of the trade.
At 10 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28,231.50 up 4.89 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8738.25 up 3.70 points. A total of 52 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 8 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 1.12% at 13352.15, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.82% at 13387.88.
Some buying activity is seen in Consumer Durable, IT and Telecom. Industrials, Auto and Basic Materials are showing weakness on BSE. Infratel, Bank of Baroda, Indusind Bank, Idea, BHEL, SBI are among the gainers, whereas ICICI Bank, Infosys, Eicher Motors, Tata Motots are losing sheen on NSE. The INDIA VIX is down 13.50% at 13.50.
