With markets underdone being bearish and Sensex trading down by almost 50 points, BSE Metal index is shining bright in morning trade hours of Tuesday. Jindal Steel is contributing 34% to the sectoral index gains.

Also, HDIL, SunTV and ACC witnessed profit booking. Housing Development and Infrastructure Limited (HDIL) witnessed decline in its open interest (OI) by 3.54%. Sun TV Network Limited witnessed decline in its open interest (OI) by 1.45%. ACC Limited witnessed decline in its open interest (OI) by 1.37%.

Torrent Pharma is the top gainer in the Mid cap space by clocking gains of 3.70%. India Bulls Housing Finance is up by 2.68%, M&M Finance is up by 2.53%, Jindal Steel is up by 3.64% and MRPL is up by 1.63%.

While, Adani Enterprise is down by 2.78%, Adani Power is down by 1.74%, Emami Ltd is down by 1.73%, IDBI is down by 1.68% and Ashok Leyland is down by 1.52% in the BSE mid-cap index.

At 11 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28,390.16 down 49.12 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8785.45 down 15.60 points. A total of 66 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 8 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.32% at13473.93, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.47%% at 13603.57.

Some buying activity is seen in Basic Materials, FMCG and Healthcare indices, while Oil & Gas, Finance, Industrials, IT and Telecom indices are showing weakness on BSE.

BHEL, ITC, Sun Pharma, Kotak Bank, and Hindalco are among the gainers, whereas Tata Motors, Zeel, Tata Motors DVR, Bajaj Auto and ICICI Bank are losing sheen on NSE.

The INDIA VIX is up 1.04% at 13.54.
