The BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods index is the top gaining index during lunch hours on Thursday, with ITC majorly contributing to the index gains and lifting it to higher levels.The index is trading at 9463 up by 0.84%.
The stocks in the index such as ITC is up 1.1% at Rs 280, Ruchi Soya Industries is up 5% at Rs 26, E.I.D.-Parry (India) is up 5% at Rs 314 and Vadilal Industries is up by 4% at Rs 949. The stocks in the index that are trading in red are Som Distilleries and Breweries down by 3% at Rs 120, Manpasand Beverages down 2% at Rs 682 and Godfrey Phillips down by 2% at Rs 1216.
Meanwhile, the stock of TIL is trading at Rs 371 up by 13% and Sudarshan Chemical Industries is also up 13% at Rs 416 on BSE. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 30,142 up 248 points while NSE Nifty is trading at 9353 up 41 points. A total of 111 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 13 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
