The BSE Healthcare is the top losing index in the morning session on Thursday. It is trading down 1.2% at 13,773. Lupin and Sun Pharma are contributing majorly to the index losses and dragging it to lower levels.Lupin is down 6.2% at Rs 1151 per share and Sun Pharma is down 1.5% at Rs 593 per share.Other stocks in the index such as Torrent Pharmaceuticals is down by 2% at Rs 1213 per share, Syncom Formulations is down 1.8% at Rs 1.56 per share, Indoco Remedies is down 2.6% at Rs 189 per share and Morepen Laboratories is also down by 1.3% at Rs 18.90 per share.
Orchid Pharma, Biocon, Vivimed Labs, Novartis India and Lincoln Pharmaceuticals are some of the stocks that are trading in the green territory in the index.The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 30,427 up 125 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9400 up 40 points. A total of 8 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 54 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
Some buying activity is seen in FMCG, Energy and Realty indices, while Telecom and Healthcare indices are showing weakness on BSE.ITC, GAIL, L&T and Infosys are among the gainers, Lupin, Adani Ports, Bharti Airtel and Power Grid are losing on the NSE. The INDIA VIX is down 5.2% at 11.2.
