HDFC, Infosys and ITC are the biggest contributors to the Sensex losses in the morning hours on Friday. HDFC trading lower by 1.3% at Rs 1544 per share. Infosys is trading lower by 1.37% at Rs 923.5 per share. FMCG giant, ITC Limited is trading lower by 0.96% at Rs 278.4 per share.
The bears have seen to take the charge of the markets with 984 declines, 589 advances and 374 unchanged stocks on NSE. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29981 down 144 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9320 down 39 points. A total of 78 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 13 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.09% at 14866, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.06% at 15495. Some buying activity is seen in Energy, Banks and Consumer Durables while FMCG, utilities and Telecom are showing weakness on BSE.
Indiabulls Housing Finance, Eicher Motors, IOC, Adani Ports and Coal India are among the gainers, whereas Hindalco, GAIL, ONGC, LT and Tata Motors are losing sheen on NSE. The INDIA VIX is up 3.52% at 11.73.
