Markets Shed Their Gains To End On A Flat Note, Nifty Settles 15 Points Higher

The equity markets consolidated after hitting fresh intraday highs. The 50 share NSE Nifty, 30 share BSE Sensex and Nifty mid-cap closed at their fresh highs. Nifty bank underperformed in trade closing at its lowest point in the trade. Benchmark indices NSE Nifty closed at 9422.40 up by 15 points, whereas BSE Sensex closed higher by 2 points at 30,250 on Thursday. BSE Mid-cap index closed higher by 0.05% at 14,957. BSE Small-cap index closed lower by 0.05% at 15,653. India VIX closed lower by 1% at 10.8 levels.

Eicher Motors and Zee Entertainment enterprises emerged as top Nifty gainers on Thursday. On the sectoral front, metal stocks and liquor stocks witnessed a sharp surge in Thursday’s trading session.HCL technologies rallied in the morning hours on the back of strong Q4 earnings but soon after pared its gains to trade in the red zone. The stock closed at Rs 838.65 per share, down by 0.43% on the BSE.

Eicher Motors, the Royal Enfield maker rallied on the bourses hitting a fresh 52 week high of Rs 30,051 per share. The stock closed at Rs 29,402.10 per share, up by 5.57% on the BSE. Among the companies which announced their financial results today were HCL technologies, Granules India, ICRA, Arvind.

ADF Foods closed higher by 15.35% at Rs 297.25 per share.

Sun TV Network closed higher by 5.42% at Rs 909 per share.

United Breweries closed higher by 5.11% at Rs 844.05 per share.

Caplin Point Laboratories closed higher by 4.61% at Rs 123.65 per share.
