The IT player, Infosys is trading lower by 1.4% at around Rs 924.2 per share. The stock is seen to drag the Nifty down in the morning hours on Friday. The bears have seen to take the charge of the markets with 1011 declines, 529 advances and 404 unchanged stocks on NSE.The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29985 down 140 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9321 down 38 points. A total of 69 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 12 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.19% at 14852, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.04% at 15479. Some buying activity is seen in Energy, Banks and Consumer Durables while FMCG, Healthcare, Energy, Finance, Telecom are showing weakness on BSE. Asian Paints, Eicher Motors, IOC, Adani Ports and Coal India are among the gainers, whereas Hindalco, GAIL, ONGC, LT and Tata Motors are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour. The INDIA VIX is up 3% at 11.67.
