Benchmark indices NSE Nifty closed at 9509 up by 149 points, whereas BSE Sensex hit a record high and closed at 30750 higher by 448 points on Thursday.Nifty50 index ended higher for the sixth consecutive derivative contract series on Thursday. L&T, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, ACC, HDFC Bank and Infosys are the top Nifty Gainers, whereas Lupin, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Cipla and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries are the top Nifty Losers.

On the contrary, the pharmaceutical stocks took a beating in Thursday’s trading session, with the BSE Healthcare index being the top losing index at the end. Lupin, Sun Pharmaceuticals and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories were the top contributor to the index losses. Lupin slipped to 33 month low on Thursday. It closed at Rs 1135.65 per share, down by 7.4%. Sun Pharmaceutical closed down by 1.5% at Rs 593.95 per share. Sanghi Industries, PC Jewellers, Alchemist, Bosch, Indian Oil Corporation, AIA Engineering, Adlabs Entertainment and Ashok Leyland were some of the companies which announced its financial results on Thursday.

Movers and Shakers of the day:

Jaiprakash Associates closed higher by 22.4% at Rs 11.44 per share.

Hotel Leelaventure closed higher by 13.9% at Rs 24.50 per share.

Jindal Steel & Power closed higher by 6.5% at Rs 118.40 per share.

GE T&D India closed higher by 5.6% at Rs 360 per share.
