Cement stocks are buzzing on the bourses in the morning hours on Monday. The Ambuja Cement and ACC Cement stocks are the top Nifty gainers. The stocks have surged owing to their merger talks in the market. The Ambuja Cement is up by 8.4% at Rs 267.25 per share. ACC is up by 4.79% at Rs 1739.7 per share. Prism Cement up by 4.8% at Rs 122 per share. Orient Cement up by 3.5% at Rs 166.1 per share.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29947 up 88 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9320 up 34 points. A total of 48 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 14 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.65% at 14814, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.66% at 15456.

Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, Metal, Pharma, Auto, while FMCG, Metal and Realty are showing weakness on BSE. Ambuja Cements, ACC, Eicher Motors, Ultratech Cement, ICICI Bank are among the gainers, whereas Hindalco, Power Grid, Tata Steel, GAIL, Adani Ports are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour.
