ITC, TCS and Reliance Industry Limited were contributing nearly 40% to the Nifty gains. Investors would be keen to watch if the markets hold these gains in coming period as well. Bharti Airtel is the top gainer in the Nifty index trading higher by 2.83%. Coal India is the top Nifty loser under performing the major indices and is trading lower by around 0.97% at Rs 275.05 per share.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 30561 up 239 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9504 up 59 points. A total of 103 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 19 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
