The IT giant, TCS is trading marginally lower at Rs 2602 per share, down by 0.85%. Tech Mahindra, Just Dial and Mind Tree are also trading in red.The metal stocks are buzzing in the morning hours. Tata Steel Limited is the top gainer in the Nifty Metal index. The stock is trading higher by 4.5% at Rs 506.55 per share. The other metal stocks like, SAIL, JSW Steel and Jindal Steel are also trading higher by around 4%.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 30870 up 120 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9541 up 31 points. A total of 25 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 26 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, Metal, Pharma, Auto, while Energy, Oil and Gas and Realty are showing weakness on BSE.Tata Steel, Asian Paints, Aurobindo Pharma, Eicher Motors, ITC are among the gainers, whereas IOC, BPCL, CIPLA, TCS, Tech Mahindra are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour.The INDIA VIX is up 0.31% at 10.48.
