The BSE Telecom index is the top losing index. It is trading down 0.49% at 1264. Stocks such as Idea Cellular, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications are trading in red. The stock of Bharti Airtel is contributing to the index losses and dragging it to lower levels.
Idea Cellular is trading down 1.7% at Rs 86 per share, Bharti Airtel is down 1.3% at Rs 346 per share, Reliance Communications is down 1.2% at Rs 32 per share and GTL Infrastructure is down 0.8% at Rs 5.5 per share.Meanwhile, the stock of Vijaya Bank is trading up by 6% at Rs 93 per share due to strong financial result for the March quarter of this year. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29,942 up 16 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9320 up 6 points. A total of 70 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 15 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
