Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra and Mahindra and Vedanta were the top gainers, while ITC, Infosys and Tech Mahindra lost the most.Maruti Suzuki hit a fresh record high intraday, up nearly 2% after a media report indicated that the company plans to spend Rs 1,000 crore in land acquisition this year.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31170 down 42 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9634 down 13 points. A total of 65 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 24 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
