Nifty PSU Bank index has extended its morning losses. The index is trading lower by nearly 4% at 3309 level. Bank Nifty index was trading at 23130 level down by 1.75%.Punjab National Bank is top loser in the index trading down by more than 5% at Rs 136.7 per share. State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank are the biggest contributor to the losses of major indices.
The advance declines ratio stood at 309:1345 at NSE with bears dominating the market.The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 30851 down 286 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9480 down 94 points. Sensex has slipped below 31000 for the first time since May 29, 2017. A total of 17 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 58 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
