Nifty Settles June F&O Series Above 9,500, Sensex Pares Gains To End Flat

NSE Nifty closed at 9,504 down by 12 points, whereas BSE Sensex closed lower by 23 points at 30,857.BSE Mid-cap index closed higher by 0.34% at 14,552. BSE Small-cap index closed higher by 0.98% at 15,310. India VIX closed lower by 5.06% at 11.3 level.

There were 952 advances, 452 declines and 61 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting positive undertone floating in the market. NSE has recorded highest ever turnover in F&O segment on Thursday. The total turnover in F&O segment in today's trade stood at around Rs 14.1 lakh crore.

Vedanta, Axis Bank, Tata Steel and Indiabulls Housing FInnace are the top Nifty gainers, whereas Tata Motors DVR, Kotak Mahindra bank, State Bank of India and Tata Motors are the top Nifty losers.Bharti Airtel touched a four-month high of Rs 386, higher by 2.4% on BSE. It extended its 3% gains of the last two trading sessions. The stock closed in positive territory gaining over 1% at Rs 382.60 per share.

Manpasand Beverages soared over 3% as the board of the company fixed record date for the purpose of payment of dividend to the eligible shareholders as on August 11, 2017. The stock closed over 3% at Rs 773.00 per share on BSE. At the closing hour on Thursday, sectoral indices in BSE ended with mixed sentiments wherein Energy and Healthcare indices were the major losers in Thursday’s trade and Metal, Telecom & Realty indices were the major gainers.
