NSE Nifty closed at 9,653 down by 4 points, whereas BSE Sensex closed lower by 14 points at 31,297.BSE Mid-cap index closed higher by 0.19% at 14,845. BSE Small-cap index closed higher by 0.16% at 15,679. India VIX closed higher by 0.1% at 10.6 level.Tata Power, Tata Motors, ONGC, Infosys and Cipla are the top Nifty gainers, whereas Powergrid, Eicher Motors, Lupin, Bosch and GAIL are the top Nifty losers.
Indian electric utility company, Tata Power on Tuesday’s trading session sizzled on the bourses, as the company is expected to dilute its share in Indian Energy Exchange (IEE) through its IPO. Tata Power closed at Rs 82.15 per share, up by 5.3%.According to the data released by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), InterGlobe Aviation flew the maximum number of passengers at 41.91 lakh passengers, capturing 41.2% of the total market share. InterGlobe Aviation closed at Rs 1230.95 per share, higher by 2.7%.
Logistics stocks on Tuesday’s trading session jumped as the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley during a press conference said that the GST switch-over will happen from June 30 midnight and roll-out on July 1. Snowman Logistics closed at Rs 59.80 per share, up by 10.6%, Patel Integrated closed at Rs 93.75 per share, up by 8.4%, Sical Logistics closed at Rs 254.60 per share, up by 4.8% and Gati closed at Rs 131.85 per share, up by 5.5%.
The BSE Realty index was trading in red territory on Tuesday. It witnessed a turnaround and closed in green at the closing hour. Indiabulls Real Estate contributed significantly to the index gains. It closed at Rs 209.85 per share, higher by 4.3%. At the closing hour on Tuesday, NBFC stocks witnessed a surge in its prices. Companies like Srei Infrastructure Finance, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance, Motilal Oswal, J M Financial and Magma Fincorp closed in green.
Nelco closed higher by 20% at Rs 96.30 per share.
Castex Technologies closed higher by 19.9% at Rs 6.67 per share.
Container Corporation of India closed higher by 4.5% at Rs 1186.70 per share.
Tata Power closed higher by 5.3% at Rs 82.15 per share.
