Media stocks have been witnessing heavy buying in the pre-lunch hour on Thursday. PVR is the top gainer in Nifty Media index. The stock is trading higher by 5.3% at Rs 1476 per share.Eros Media is trading higher by around 3% at Rs 220 per share. Other media stocks like Mukta Arts, Zee Entertainment, DEN Networks are also trading in green zone.The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31229 down 41 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9653 down 10 points. A total of 70 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 26 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.25% at 14838, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading marginally up 0.33% at 15476.Some buying activity is seen in Capital Goods, Finance, Metal, Auto, while FMCG, IT, PSU Banks and Realty are showing weakness on NSE. Dr Reddy’s, Sun Pharma, Tata Steel, Aurobindo Pharma and Tata Motors are among the gainers, whereas TCS, Bharti Infratel, Tata Power, Adani Ports and GAIL are losing sheen on NSE.The INDIA VIX is up 1.42% at 11.04.
