Nifty Settles Below 9650, Sensex Consolidates For Second Day

Benchmark indices NSE Nifty closed at 9633 levels, lower by 19 points or 0.21%, whereas the BSE Sensex closed at 31283 levels, lower by 13 points or 0.04%.While, BSE Mid-cap Index closed up by 0.04% at 14850 whereas, BSE Small-cap Index closed up by 0.11% at 15696.

Hindustan Unilever was the top Nifty gainer whereas, ONGC was the top Nifty loser.Sasken Technologies traded on bullish mood on Wednesday’s intra-day trade gaining over 10% as the company’s management informed that the company will expand and diversify beyond their communications business. The stock closed at Rs 440.55 higher by 6.5%.


ABB India surged over 2% at Rs 1,532.00 per share on BSE during pre-lunch hours as ABB Group is in talks with L&T to acquire its electrical and automation division, reported a national news daily. The stock closed at Rs 1506 higher by 0.4%.

Power Grid Corporation of India was trading lower by 0.5% at Rs 207 per share at 1209 hours on BSE. The company’s 25 lakh shares traded in a block deal on NSE at Rs 206.30 per share. The stock closed at Rs 206 lower by 1.1%.

SPML Infra was up by 2.4% as the company received new orders for water supply and irrigation projects worth Rs 642 crore. The stock closed at Rs 129.10 higher by 4.9%.

Monnet Ispat & Energy on the back of rumours of a takeover of the debt-burdened company by public sector Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL). The stock at Rs 40.95 higher by 15.6%.

Indiabulls Real Estate was the buzzing stock on the bourses. It is the most active stock by value in the Wednesday’s trading session. The stock at Rs 212.60 higher by 1.7%.

Goa Carbon on Wednesday surged more than 4% on BSE despite markets trading in red territory. It was trading higher by 4.8% at Rs 258 per share at 1059 hours. The stock closed at Rs 258.80 higher by 5.2%.

CDSL IPO continued to get a huge response from the investors. The IPO issue had got oversubscribed on its first day of subscription. On its last day of subscription on Wednesday, the issue has got oversubscribed by 130.33 times

Karnataka is now the fourth state to announce farm loan waiver program following Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Punjab. The Karnataka government has waived off farmers' loans worth Rs 8,167 crore, reported a national news agency.
