The BSE Capital Goods is one of the top gaining indices post-lunch hours on Wednesday. Larsen & Toubro is majorly contributing to the index gains and pulling it to higher level. It was up 1.2% at Rs 1758 per share.
Other stocks from the index viz. Bharat Electronics was up 1.9% at Rs 168 per share, Carborundum Universal was up 3.7% at Rs 333per share, Greaves Cotton was up 4.8% at Rs 164.80 per share, Lakshmi Machine Works was up 1.9% at Rs 5314 per share And BEML was up 2.6% at Rs 1346 per share.
Meanwhile, Rupa & Company is buzzing on the bourses. It was trading higher by 5.9% at Rs 566.25 per share.
At 2 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31159 up 55 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9612 up 5 points. A total of 74 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 46 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.18% at 14772, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.27% at 15560. Some buying activity is seen in Energy, Bankex and Capital Goods indices, while FMCG and Metal are showing weakness on BSE. Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, L&T and Tech Mahindra are among the gainers, whereas Yes Bank, Cipla, Wipro and ITC are losing on the NSE.
